At the Hunter Law Firm, Special Counsel Kris Koletar’s areas of expertise include estate, financial, and business planning. Kris approaches his practice with one core philosophy in mind: simplicity. He enjoys the challenges of solving his clients’ problems, and he takes great pride in helping them achieve their long-term goals by putting them in the most beneficial financial position. The purpose of an estate plan should be to ensure that one’s assets are transferred to the right people, at the right time, for the right purposes, and in the most efficient manner possible. That’s exactly what Kris does for his clients. He provides personal attention to your estate needs by developing a customized plan through hand-drafted documents while being accessible, flexible, highly mobile, and very approachable.
Kris joined the Hunter Law Firm in early 2012. Originally from Berkley Heights, New Jersey, Kris now calls Toano home. He lives there with his wife, best friend and favorite person, Cassondra. They share their home with their sons, Peter and Gavin, their daughter, Lucy, and their dogs, Gurgi and Dixie. In their free time the Koletars enjoy music, traveling as often as possible, and pretending to be “foodies” by sampling exotic cuisines.
“It was our pleasure working with Mr. Koletar. He educated us on the best the options for our family, and how we can avoid the probate process. He advised us on the essential documents needed for our situation and those that were not. We appreciated his honesty and positive energy!”

“Kristof Koletar of The Hunter Law Firm was invaluable in helping myself and my parents set up a Special Needs Trust for my son. I have a 14 year old son with Autism and my parents and I want to make sure that he will be taken care of should we not be here to provide for him. I was at a business networking meeting and Kris brought that he was looking for people that may have a child with special needs as they would need a specific trust to help protect their children should they not be able to take care of them. Boom, I reached out to Kris and we got the process started immediately. My parents and I met with Kris and he walked us through the process and made it easy. He answered our questions, no matter how trivial. I was also able to update my will with Kris and make mention of the new trust in there so that his money would be put into trust should anything happen to me. Now that we know that Zachary will be cared for financially, it has relieved a burden from myself and my parents. There were no hidden costs or fees and the process was so easy thanks to Kris and the knowledge that he has.
“Kris is knowledgeable of the new laws that are in existence which gave me peace of mind when working with him. I will definitely recommend Kris to my friends and family for their Trust and Estate Planning.”
